WHO AM I
Hello! My name is Kimberly Norrod. I am 21 years old and am originally from Cookeville, Tennessee, which is a small town right outside Nashville. I am now residing in both Nashville/NYC. I have a dog named Maisy, she's a pit husky and is my bestie! I like to hike/run, thrift, listen to music, take tons of pictures and videos, meet new people, and go new places!
When did I start photography?
I began photography on my first camera, a point and shoot FujiFilm, in 2016. I left off to focus on school and picked it back up in 2019, selling my FujiFilm and purchasing a new Nikon. For some exposure, I started doing senior photos for $20 during the pandemic for my close friends and family. I also began working at a coffee shop where I was a barista and social media marketer. I did my first wedding in 2019 and slowly started growing wedding work from then on. I started working out of NYC in 2022 and have been traveling the East Coast for weddings + events for the past couple years now. I have been able to book with some amazing people and travel to the best couples!
What do I shoot with?
I shoot with both digital and film cameras (inquire for wedding package film add ons)! I am a big fan of Canon for my digital but also own a few other brands in my film camera collection.
Why do I love photography/videography?
I got a camera at a young age and realized photography/videography is important for our history- it's all about documenting and story-telling.
My favorite style of photos?
Modern/timeless/filmy/editorial looks are my favorite! This includes champagne towers, flash photos, city elopements, 35mm/super 8, bridal portraits, sparkler exits, and more! I would love to help you style your shoot if needed!
When did I start veils?
2024! When I started hanging around NYC more for photo/video jobs, my roommates worked in the Garment District on Broadway. I had never thought about stitching veils before, but watching my roommates work in the industry made me think about it more. I had some practice from sewing 100+ mask for our local ram clinic back in 2020 and I had sewed a couple patchwork pieces in the past for myself. I realized how easily I could make veils for my brides needing them, so I quickly got to work. Check out my veil or contact page for more information on buying or renting a veil!
Favorite colors?
Dark green, white, black, tan, baby blue, and brown! I love a blue/brown pastel palette
Favorite movie?
Anything with Leonardo Decaprio
Binge show?
I Love Lucy-- such a classic!
Biggest advice for photoshoots?
Don't stress and love the process of it. Ask your photographer(s) any questions about what to do- I am here to help you in any way!
Best wishes,
Kimberly Norrod <3
